They are small and light, yet still possess the
charisma of their larger prototypes: Fw 190, Bf 109, Hurricane and Spitfire –
four legends from the Second World War in semi-scale silhouette format, powered
by a classic rubber motor. Sounds nostalgic? It certainly is – and a welcome
change of pace, or even the perfect introduction to the world of free flight,
even for model-making novices. The models are designed so that they can be
assembled in no time at all, enabling even absolute beginners to achieve their
goal. Anyone who carefully follows the assembly and flight instructions will be
rewarded with a model that flies well – and can enjoy the sight of it in flight
and the fascination of a free-flight model. Or perhaps they’ll even find their
way into the fascinating world of model aircraft building. The assembly
instructions and construction plan are included in the 11/2026 issue of FMT.
The laser-cut parts sets contain CNC-machined components made from lightweight balsa and plywood of selected quality. In addition, the sets include the components for the rubber-powered drive, such as the propeller (Guillow’s 6”), propeller shaft and bearings, as well as a rubber cord. The sets are available in two versions – with and without laser-engraved panel lines and rivets.
