In 2007, Wolfgang Werling won the FMT construction
plan competition with his Hacker 115 construction. This was also the start of
an extremely successful career as an FMT construction plan author. The Hacker
115 has a wingspan of 1 m and is a very free replica of the original Heath 115.
The construction plan and the milled parts set for the Hacker 115, which was
available in the VTH store for a long time, were so successful that we decided
in an editorial meeting at the beginning of 2024 to bring out a follow-on
model. Slightly larger and closer to the prototype, the new model is designed
for both electric and combustion engines. Only the tail units and lever arms
have been optimized. The front section of the fuselage has also been
simplified. As there were also numerous modified versions of the original, we
can speak with a clear conscience of an almost prototypical replica and
confidently call the model the Heath 115 Center Wing, just like the original.
The model impresses with its well thought-out construction - even building it is great fun, which is surpassed by the uncritical flight characteristics. The Heath 115 can be equipped with inexpensive components and leaves room for a variety of possible drive variants. The insert construction plan was published in FMT 03/ and 04/2025.
The printed construction plan is supplied by the publisher (in contrast
to the insert construction plan) printed on one side on white paper. Individual
elements are also shown in color. The delivery includes building instructions.
