Water detector for ship models

Who hasn't experienced this themselves? Without noticing, there is suddenly water in the boat. There are many reasons for this. It is not always possible to detect water ingress from changes in the boat's handling, especially with large models. It is also not always easy to remove the entire superstructure of a boat just to quickly check whether water has entered. This is where Norbert Brüggen's water detector comes in handy.

The module is easy to wire and put into operation. A repurposed servo cable is placed in the bilge with the plug side acting as a sensor and connected to the water detector via a screw terminal. If even a minimal amount of water enters, the module immediately switches on a relay and thus, for example, an LED that alerts the captain. Alternatively, a servo can be controlled directly, which raises a flag as a warning signal, for example. If you have a water pump with a brushless motor, this can now also be activated by connecting the plug of the pump's brushless controller to the module via a servo plug. Of course, this also works with all other types of speed controllers and motors.
