Decal sheet Bo 209 Monsun (2022)
- Construction: Jürgen Bestenlehner
- to be built either as a rubber motor or an RC model
Decal
sheet made of black, red and white foil for the Bo 209 Monsun
Graupner's
Bo 209 Monsun was first seen in the 1971 catalogue. As a kit of printed and
stamped balsa parts with a rubber motor and the stylish, blue-tinted canopy.
With
the support of Arnulf V. Thiemel and the use of the original construction plan
from the VTH archive, item number 3244421, we were able to revive the Monsun.
The structure and construction should be changed as little as possible. At the top
of the task booklet it said that the model adhered to the usual illustrations
from the catalogue.
Instead
of being stamped out, the wooden parts are now very modern and precisely
laser-made. You can easily separate them from the boards with a sharp craft
knife. The fuselage frames and side parts are designed to be pluggable, so you
no longer have to laboriously transfer the exact position from the construction
plan. The plastic wheels should rattle true to the original and are glued together
from two half-shells, as in the past. Here again modern as 3D printed parts.
Very characteristic of the Monsun, the blue-tinted canopy. It simply had to be
retained and is included in the new kit in a weight-optimized form. So that the
look fits at the end, there are the original lettering and decorative lines
plotted out of foil to stick on. The base
color is painted white and red.
