Classical coasters (PoD)

The author of this book describes the interesting development from the ewer, the small-load sailer with a sidesword, to today's coasters with their container cargo in a knowledgeable and lively manner. Thus, the ship modeler acquires the necessary knowledge and understanding to recreate the perfect model of a classic coaster around 1960.

In addition to the detailed construction description for the coaster "Christei" on a scale of 1:100, the reader learns how the prototype was designed and built. The preparation of the general plan, the line sketch and the longitudinal section are explained in detail and in a comprehensible way, so that the model builder is able to put his own ideas on paper or to better understand the shipyard documents and to convert them into a model.

Many drawings, photos, tips on materials and workmanship, and simple calculations help to build a model ship that will be indistinguishable from the professional shipyard model.
