Bauplan Spitfire Mk.XIV
- Construction: Timo Starkloff, 2025
- Scale 1:12
- Wooden construction
- easy to fly
- for aircombat und fun flying
Timo Starkloff designed the Spitfire as the successor to his Jak-9, which was released in September 2007. In terms of simplicity, the Jak is still unbeatable, but the Spifire has even better flight characteristics. This plan is based on the late version with the Griffon engine and the bubble canopy - a model with a large tail unit and long fuselage simply flies better. The Spitfire can be built in different versions and equipped with an electric or combustion engine. You also have the choice of attaching the wings with screws and dowels or with rubber wings. Wing rubbers are not a retro trend at Aircombat, but are much more robust in the event of an unsuccessful landing or collision. The corresponding differences in the individual parts are described in the construction plan. The Spitfire has a special feature with regard to the wing: This is thinner in a straight line from the root rib to the edge bow due to a modified profile. This and the slightly curved profile make planking the elliptical surface very easy. A canopy and a material and milled parts set, which also includes the canopy, are optionally available. Both shorten the construction time considerably.
