The Nordic is an
ocean-going salvage tug commissioned in 2011, which is stationed at a sea
position near Helgoland as part of the German emergency towing concept and
comes to the aid of casualties in the German Bight. After 42 years of service,
the Nordic replaced the ocean-going tug Oceanic and is considered one of the
most powerful ocean-going tugs in German waters.
