The port of Hamburg is the economic heart of northern Germany and a tourist magnet at the same time. There are countless ideas for ship model builders, as harbor vessels in particular are ideal for modeling due to their size. In addition to modern vehicles, there are also some historic vehicles in the port. One of these is the inspection boat Süderelbe, which was built in 1937 and is now preserved by the Hamburg Maritime Foundation.
