The steam engine described here is a vertical trestle engine with slide control. The design is based on a construction plan by Elmer Verburg under the name "Tall Vertical Open Column #32". The connecting rod is guided by a linkage. The movement of the machine is fascinating. Due to the slow running, the movement of the linkage can be observed wonderfully. Even with little pressure, the machine runs very smoothly. The construction plan includes 17 A4 pages with scale and dimensioned drawings as well as a construction description.
